Getting Estimates? - What To Look For!

It's easy to just get an estimate from a local moving company. In today's economy it seems my local Connecticut customers look at price and only price at first. There is a lot more to getting an estimate from local movers than just getting a price. There are things that you are going to want to look out for when getting estimates from Connecticut movers that will help you determine whether or not the local Connecticut mover is a reputable Connecticut moving company.

Taking The Time To Understand Your Local Move

Most local moving estimates are based on an hourly rate and CAN be done over the phone. Estimators should spend some time with you on the phone though. The more time spent on the phone, the more accurate your estimate is going to be. Local Connecticut moving companies, that when you ask for an estimate say, it's "2 men for $65.00 and 3 men for $95.00" an hour right off the bat, are not reputable Connecticut movers. You are calling for a reason, yeah for price, but what else? That particular Connecticut mover did not take the time to find out about your antique grand piano that needs to have the legs removed, also quilt pad wrapped(not once, but TWICE!!), shrink wrapped to hold the quilt pads in place. The piano needs to be moved on a reefer board (ultra padded piano board), and secured on the truck. Then the local Connecticut mover needs to reassemble the piano and place it exactly where you want it in your new home.

How about your $3,000.00 plasma screen TV that needs to be crated? You know! The TV that if you tilt it 45 degrees in the wrong direction the screen implodes do to the weight of the plasma. Local Connecticut moving companies that take the time to truly understand your local move and inform you of things like, the temperaments of a plasma screen TV and how to prevent damage to it; and how the Connecticut movers are going to take care of your antique grand piano, are the true reputable Connecticut moving companies.

Not all local Connecticut customers have an antique grand piano, or a $3,000.00 plasma TV. Now what every local Connecticut customer DOES have, are things that are special to them. Reputable Connecticut moving companies will take the time to ask if there are any special items to you that need special attention, and then proceed to inform you on how the local movers are going to take care of those particular items. When you are done receiving your estimate, you also should have been relieved of any uncertainties regarding your local move. You should be comfortable that the local mover you have chosen is going to take great pride in doing a great job for you, and in the fact that you know exactly what precautions the local movers are going to take to ensure all your belongings arrive, and are set up unharmed. So, when calling to get estimates, and a Local Connecticut mover just throws a number at you, it's obvious, that local mover really does not care about what’s truly important to you.
